Jordan holidays

Just north east of Egypt lies a country with a wealth of treasures. Jordan has a rich inheritance from bygone civilisations and the remains of these attract many visitors.

The highlight of any visit must be the 'Rose Red City' of Petra, carved into the rock thousands of years ago.

North of the country and the lowest point on the Earth is the Dead Sea, where you can effortlessly float on the surface due to the high salt content. Follow in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you visit the windsculpted hills of Wadi Rum where scenes from the famous film were shot.

Escorted tour offers superb sightseeing and will show you the true beauty of this ancient country, highly recommended.

Visit Petra from Amman, the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh or part of our Jordan Explorer tour.

Jordan highlights

* Journey through history and discover the ancient ruins of Jerash and the World Heritage site of Petra
* Camel ride through the unforgettable desert of Wadi Rum
* Float effortlessly in the Dead Sea, renowned for its unusually warm, salty, buoyant, mineral rich water
* Scuba diving amongst the abundant marine life of the Red Sea resort of Aqaba
* Combine a visit to the ancient sites with a swim, or game of tennis in the afternoon

Libya holidays

History ancient and modern awaits discovery on the Mediterranean coast of Eastern Libya. The 'Northern Oases & Cyrene' tour from Egypt includes four days of cultural exploration in this fascinating region, visiting some of the most important classical sites and 20th century battlefields in Africa.

En route to Libya, you'll visit El Alamein, scene of one of the most decisive Allied victories of World War II. Across the border, lesser known Tobruk experienced equally fierce fighting and changed hands four times between 1940 and 1942. The final breakthrough of the Allied army against Rommel's forces at Tobruk was essential to Alamein and entire war effort.

Beyond Tobruk lies the spectacular ancient Greek city of Cyrene. Spend an enthralling day amongst the temples, marketplaces, villas, baths and stone streets, little changed since a 4th century earthquake left the city in atmospheric and romantic ruins. Classical history comes further to life in the ruins at Apollonia, ancient seaport for Cyrene, the finest mosaics in Africa at Gaser Libya, and the museums of Roman Ptolmeis.

Morocco holidays

New colours and culture, ancient, beautiful cities and endless golden beaches - a holiday to Morocco offers a taste of the exotic only three hours away. Stay in a world-famous boutique hotel, or a charming private riad with family and friends, and discover a rich, glorious cultural history, unwind on breathtaking beach, play a round at one of the many spectacular golf courses, or get the pulse racing in the adventure capital of North Africa.

Morocco holiday highlights

* The contrasts of Marrakech, from the monumental history of the El Badi Palace and Koutoubia Mosque to the vibrancy of Djema el Fna at sundown, with musicians and acrobats, snake charmers and street food sellers.

* Other beautiful imperial cities Meknes and Fes - get lost in the tiny, winding, sensuous alleyways of Fez Medina!

* The fascinating Berber villages of the High Atlas.

* The golden beaches of the Atlantic and Mediterranean coast.

* The superlative golf courses and exhilarating activities.

Holiday in ancient Marrakech

Morocco’s magical city of Marrakech is a labyrinth of alleyways, secluded palaces, museums, mosques and markets. With a wonderfully relaxed environment and a unique ambience a holiday to Marrakech will provide a memorable holiday experience.

Exoticism, mysticism and beauty surrounds you in Oman, from the gleaming white sand beaches lined with swaying date palms to the colourful citrus groves, the traditional reed houses to the grand, whitewashed desert forts. This is the land of frankincense and home of the legendary Sinbad, but very much a 21st century holiday destination, taking its lead from the extravagant hotels and comprehensive facilities of neighbouring Dubai.

Oman highlights

* The capital, Muscat, lining a natural, picturesque harbour overlooked by the twin Portuguese colonial forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani, and the ancient port of Muttrah - the perfect place to shop for Omani specialities such as handcrafted silver, textiles and perfumes.
* The best of the country's more than 500 imposing forts (at Nizwa, Bahla, Jabrin and Rustaq) visitable in a day trip from Muscat.
* Salalah is a peaceful historical town of uncrowded beaches and lush coconut groves in the southern Dhofar region.
