Antigua And Barbuda holidays

With its fascinating colonial history and colourful culture, thrilling adventure sports and easy rhythms, spectacular natural beauty and a different beach for every day of the year, Antigua is the perfect Caribbean holiday destination. Tiny sister island Barbuda, the quintessential unspoilt paradise of pristine pink-white sands and luxurious resorts, elevates relaxation to an art form.

where the great Admiral sheltered his warships in the late 18th Century.

This small Dutch Caribbean island lies only 18 miles off the coast of Venezuela in the azure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy the stunning palm-fringed white sand beaches of the southern coast and the dramatic landscapes of the northern coast, as well as the vibrant capital city Oranjestad with it's Dutch story-book style architecture.

An easy to explore island with excellent diving and watersports.

Bahamas holidays

The geography of the Bahamas surprises first time visitors - 700 islands and 2,400 smaller cays scattered across a 1000-mile swathe of the Atlantic Ocean from the Florida coast to eastern Cuba. This former haven of pirates, smugglers and rumrunners now displays an absolute dedication to holiday pleasure. Spend a week or two there and adjust to the islands' three paces of life...slow, stop and reverse.

   unforgettable experience

* Resorts as attractions in their own right, not least the amazing Atlantis, packed with
   family-friendly, theme-park-style experiences.

* The elegant colonial buildings and botanical gardens of Nassau, the islands’ capital.

* The picturesque scenery and resident dolphins of Paradise Island.

* Stunningly beautiful championship golf courses at the Four Seasons Club, Radisson Cable
   Beach and many others.

Barbados holidays

Barbados holiday highlights

* Bridgetown - a capital of colonial architecture, historical sights, fascinating museums, duty
   free shops and excellent restaurants.

* The resorts of the 'platinum' (west) coast...some, like Sandy Lane, have become attractions in
  their own right.

* Holetown, with its pretty Barbadian houses, where the first British ship landed, in 1625.

* Former plantations, romantically ruined or skilfully reused, such as the Flower Forest at
   Richmond Plantation.

* Golf - the climate, scenery and some of the region's best courses make Barbados a golfer's
paradise. Particularly good are the links at Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland.

Bermuda holidays

600 miles off the North American coast lies this archipelago of 150 islands and islets. The seven main islands are linked by causeways and bridges and the main town Hamilton, is where you will find a colourful harbour and attractive colonial style buildings.

When you have seen enough of the town's sights, you can relax on the pink sandy beaches or swim in the gleaming turquoise waters. The pretty flowers and trees of the beautiful gardens and parks provide delightful surroundings in which to unwind.

The crystal clear waters of the gulf stream ensure a temperate climate, ideal for those who enjoy walking, sailing or golf. To see the islands at their best, the optimum time to visit is the summer as facilities are more limited in winter.

Bonaire holidays

The crescent shaped island of Bonaire is just 21 miles long, yet over 300 different species of marine life flourish in this area and it has been a protected marine park since 1979. Conditions are always stable and warm with virtually no currents, making encounters with rare species a good draw for the underwater photographer. Outside the hurricane belt it rarely rains and the waters that surround the islands are rich in nutrients.

Cayman Islands holidays

The three islands of Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac offer holidaymakers a range of memorable Caribbean experiences above and below their crystal blue waters. The largest, Grand Cayman, is home to the elegant capital, where visitors can pick up duty free bargains and learn about the islands' culture, and the famous Seven Mile Beach, a seemingly endless stretch of immaculate white sand.

Cayman Islands highlights

* Grand Cayman's fascinating natural attractions, such as the turtle sanctuary, the butterfly farm
and the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, where the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme recently
proudly announced the birth of 87 baby blue iguanas.

* Grand Cayman's sister islands - also a paradise for nature lovers, with eight miles of trails lined
with educational information on local flora and fauna on Cayman Brac and the many thousands
of feathered travellers attracted to Little Cayman.

* The hundreds of dive and snorkel sites, many just a short swim from the shore, where turtles and
eagle rays share pristine coral reefs and the wreckage of ill-fated ships with hundreds of species
   of vibrant and inquisitive fish.

Cuba holidays

Largest island in the Caribbean, historical favourite of hedonists and thrill-seekers, Cuba is beautiful, passionate and never less than fascinating. As the last bastion of world communism, this land of elegant towns and stunning beaches has achieved something of a cult status with travellers, writers and musicians, paying homage to its beauty and resilience. Cuba is truly unique, a quality few countries can lay claim to.

Cuba highlights

* Havana, romantic and atmospheric World Heritage Site of faded grandeur, where time appears
to have stood still since the 1950s.

* Santiago de Cuba, the island's most exotic city and home to every genre of Cuban music from
samba to rumba, jazz to cha-cha-cha.

* The fascinating and spectacularly situated El Morro Fortress.

most attractive in the country with verdant tobacco fields and striking limestone scenery.

Grenada holidays

The seductive aroma of nutmeg and cinnamon, welcomes new arrivals to Grenada, spice island of the Caribbean. This tranquil paradise of mountains and lakes, cascading rivers and waterfalls, combines the easy rhythms and charm of the Caribbean with a rich cultural heritage. But, for all the attractions, you could be forgiven for spending most of your time beside the soft white sands that fringe the island...

Grenada highlights

* St George's - an enchanting collection of red-tiled, pastel-coloured colonial houses clinging to
the hills that surround a sheltered blue lagoon - is perhaps the loveliest city in the Caribbean,
and the most picturesque capital in the world. Try Grenadian specialities at one of the many
   friendly restaurants.

* The natural beauty of the interior - Grand Etang National Park, centred around a stunning, azure
volcanic lake, is a bewitching area of dwarf forest and mahogany groves and Levera National
Park is the island's most scenic and spectacular coastal area, with a postcard-perfect beach,
wildlife-rich mangrove lagoon and vibrant coral.

* Working spice factories, rum distilleries and fishing villages.

Jamaica holidays

Jamaica has captivated travellers for centuries. Christopher Columbus, first European to set foot on the island, regarded it as 'the fairest land that eyes have beheld' and it subsequently became a scenic jewel in colonial crowns. Visitors love Jamaica above all for its natural beauty - the cool peaks of the Blue Mountains, mile after mile of lush cane fields, picturesque rum estates, rivers and waterfalls, caves, beaches and lagoons.

Jamaica highlights

* All Inclusive resorts - nowhere does it better! For superb value and complete peace of mind,
choose a holiday where the price includes at least all meals, local drinks, land and non-motorised
watersports, daily activities and evening entertainment.

* The stunning interior of the island, with natural wonders such as the Blue Mountains, famed for its
coffee, and the lovely Dunn's River Falls.

* The vibrant resort areas of Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril, each offering spectacular
beaches, great shopping, fresh seafood restaurants and lively bars, throbbing to the sounds of
   reggae and calypso.

* The superb diving and snorkelling in the clear waters and amongst the reefs that surround the
   island.

St. Kitts And Nevis holidays

Perhaps not as well known as other Caribbean islands, St Kitts and Nevis are perfect for those allured by the Caribbean but wanting to stay away from the crowds. The rich vegetation, palm fringed beaches and volcanic backdrop make these beautiful tropical islands just as appealing as the more mainstream islands.

You can relax in the tranquillity of St Kitts, a little excitement is offered at the casino and there are some excellent restaurants. Just a ferry ride away, Nevis has some outstanding hotels and magnificent beaches.

St. Lucia holidays

The natural beauty and relaxed ambience of St Lucia has repeatedly earned this remarkable island the 'Best Weddings and Honeymoon Destination' World Travel Award. But romance is just one of the holiday pleasures on offer in this verdant, volcanic paragon of the Caribbean. Visitors can also enjoy superb family-friendly hotels, a range of 'soft-adventure' activities and a calendar of exciting cultural events.

St Lucia highlights

* 'Soft adventure', encompassing a range of magical experiences from diving and snorkelling to
hiking and trail riding, turtle watching and hot springs bathing to yachting and game fishing.

* Natural beauty - clear, coral-rich Caribbean waters and tropical forests teeming with colourful and
exotic life, a mountainous centre dotted with flowered-lined hiking trails, the majestic twin Pitons
and the world's only drive-in volcano!

* Events including the annual Jazz Festival in May, attracting the world's best musicians, and the St
Lucia Carnival in June and July, when two days of live music and livelier dancing culminates with
the coronation of the 'Soca Monarch' and 'Carnival Queen'.

* Cricket...a way of life and virtually a religion in the Caribbean!

St. Vincent and The Grenadines holidays

A string of pearls afloat on the sea of lapis lazuli, the Grenadines are superbly undeveloped, supremely unspoilt and sufficiently inaccessible to stay that way.

On these gorgeous islands, nightlife is conspicuous by its absence, peace and solitude are unsurpassed, and the dress code - like the lifestyle - ranges from informal to barefoot casual. By palm dotted beaches of powder sand, a handful of hotels offer sumptuous comfort.

Our chosen duo are the private resort of Palm Island and the village-style Carenage on Canouan.

This is Caribbean for the connoisseur.

Trinidad and Tobago holidays

Trinidad's little sister, idyllic Tobago, is synonymous with the unnamed island upon which Robinson Crusoe was shipwrecked for more than three decades. Thankfully, there is nothing to trouble modern day castaways, and travellers to this breathtaking little island can enjoy the sublime powdery beaches, natural beauty and laid-back Caribbean charm in rather more comfort, at a selection of luxurious resort hotels.

Trinidad and Tobago holiday highlights

* Base yourself in Tobago, but don't miss the carnival in Trinidad. This lively island is the home of
carnival, a two-day explosion of colour, pageantry and abandon, the product of a dynamic
   heritage and fun-loving people.

* Little Tobago, a 182-ha paradise for the birdwatcher and nature enthusiast. Native species gather
here along with dozens of others, including gilt-plumed birds-of-paradise.

* Buccoo Reef, an extensive area of coral gardens around one mile offshore of Pigeon Point.
Glass-bottom boats reveal the wonders of the warm tropical sea, or get closer on a diving or
   snorkelling excursion.

* The scenic interior, perfectly drivable in a day, including verdant nature reserves, crumbling
sugar plantations, forested hills and tiny villages.

Turks and Caicos holidays

This beautiful British Crown Colony of 40 islands and cays is truly a place where you can still "get away from it all".

Breathtaking turquoise waters, powdery soft white sand, snorkelling and diving as good as anywhere in the world, a friendly welcome and virtually no crime are just a few of the things that make these islands so special.

One of the last undiscovered treasures of the tropics.

Virgin Islands holidays

The VIs are renowned for their gorgeous beaches and amazing scenery. On these idyllic islands you can truly relax and soak up the sun. The main island is Tortola whose best beaches are located on the North coast. You can take in the magnificent view from the top of the islands hill's or ride up to the top of Mount Sage where the panorama of the surrounding islands are just as breathtaking. If you are looking for paradise islands with splendid beaches, then the VIs are perfect.
